With opportunities I’ve waited for, starting in a sudden rush, along with extra volunteering, I have discovered I’ve been a little heavy on the accelerator.
I have been “up to tech”, volunteering, catching a cold (but not Covid), sleeping a lot, and hopefully recovering.
What we should do, but probably won’t; Give two choices: accept the treatment offered without harassing (or worse) those treating you or acknowledge one’s choice of going home and managing on one’s own against doctor’s advice. If you can’t make a choice, you’re not competent to make a decision, so you are on a Form 1 and evaluated for mental health (or other impairment) issues.
No offense meant to the bean dish in the cover photo, but it reminds me of the results of an awful bout of food-borne illness I recently experienced. The old cliché of feeling ’like death warmed over’ certainly was on my mind and for some reason that made think of reheated refried beans, so you get the lovely image above and the implications of what was happening when I talk about food borne illness.
